Making MD2 models

used to be so much fun... You'd become an expert in at least 3 different programs, all with different interfaces, different functionality, and usually with lousy documentation. You'd struggle with mapping coordinates, frame names, skin linking, and frequent crashes. It was truly an adventure.

QTiP is so easy,

it's almost boring. If you know 3D Studio Max, or even if you don't but can get models from your preferred package into Max, prepare yourself for seamless transfer of .md2 files into the game of your choice!

Feature List

- Export .MD2 format with mapping coordinates from 3D Studio Max

- Compositing of multi/sub object materials into one continuous map of arbitrary size

- Export of texture map as an 8 bit per pixel PCX mapped to the palette of your choice or a 24 bit BMP for editing in your favorite photo editing software!

- Arbitrary construction of .MD2 animation files

 - Save any span of frames to any location in the .MD2. Allows user to work with multiple .MAX files and create one .MD2 by updating it!

- Combination of multiple objects upon export... work with segmented models if you want!

- Easy skin naming - eliminate linking problems!

- Scale Factor , Work at any size, refit existing animations without hassle!

- Import frame name lists from standard text files! Template included

- True one stop tool - you can go straight from Max to your game and check your work!

Q-tip is by far the best MDL plugin I have for exporting game characters from 3dsmax. Its ease of use and stability makes it the ideal choice for the game design enthusiast as well as the pro.

I use to registered a lot of shareware tools, games because I love the indie scene and so, but I can promise you I've never received a support as fast and kindly as yours

We TOTALLY froze our work on the Q2 total conversion that we were working on, mostly because modeling was next to impossible without coding something like your QTip.

Your software was the only one we found so far that gets us all the way to the Quake II world from engineering style 3D models.
